What Is Up with The WEATHER?!?

Okay, I am just ready for spring already!!!

This picture was taken in mid February 2009 at Scott Davis Chip Mill. Yesterday it was 70 degrees and tomorrow it is supposed to SNOW! What?!?

I KNOW that God has perfect timing so I guess we will have to just keep believing that He knows what he is doing!

As for everything else it life, IT IS GREAT!

CARYS:

Is so smart! I know she is mine and you all probably think I am NUTS! For my birthday we got a few new baby chicks and Justin got a baby turkey. Carys asked me if chickens were the same as birds. I told her yes. We talked about how she knew they were the same (i.e feathers, laid eggs). She is very observant. So then she wanted to know what we (humans) are. I told her that all living things were divided into sections like birds, fish, mammals. "We are mammals," I told her. Then we talked about how every animal (okay almost every animal:) that has live babies is a mammal.

I was so proud of our discussion. WOW, I had taught her so much. Then, she hit me with it...She said, "Mom, Mrs. Kim taught me something and she did not mean to." I said what? Carys said, "She said that allagators lay eggs so they are not mammals." Then she said, "Also, on the movie Charlotte's Web, she laid eggs so spiders are not mammals either."

So, I thought I was such a GREAT teacher. Turns out Mrs. Wadsworth, a spider, and one silly little girl have me beat!

SAWYER:
The SAW-MAN is still doing great with his potting. I dare call it "potty-training" beacuse no one has trained him. Stuborn little thing! But I do wish that you all could see him in his underware. They actually make boxer-briefs is size 2-3. They fit his little bird legs perfect!

He is about turn Three!!!

He is such a big boy. If you are not around us a lot, and want to know what he is like, watch The Andy Griffith show. Everything about Opie is just like Sawyer. He is very old-fashioned. He LOVES overalls and boots, playing in dirt, fishing, not wearing shoes, and being silly. However, he takes life VERY serious. He fell down two weeks ago and skinned his nose. He goes on and on about how "bad" it looks and he wants it to go away. How does he KNOW it looks bad?!? He is also very loving. He does not like to kiss on the mouth anymore. He will kiss your cheeks, head, eyes, nose, and ears, but not on the mouth. Someone told him that was not good and buddy, be believes it!

ME AND JUSTIN:

We are just hanging out! It is so great to finally have Carys' ordeal behind us. It will never really be OVER, but behind us for now. One thing that is hard is to re-adjust to "normal" routines. You get so used to seeing eachother all day, everyday; and I miss that. Usually, I stay so busy that I do not have time to think about it until we are back home and all together.
As much as we are in love with eachother we both have two new loves! Poultry and Planting! We both love working with the chickens. We have recently expanded our chicken farm to two pens. I keep my chickens small Bantams (as seen above) in one pen and Justin's larger chickens (Black Astrolorps the the other. They are the ones we raised from chicks. There is just something about raising animals that is a thrill! We started out with 28 chicks and we have sold all but 14 hens and one rooster. They will begin laying in a few weeks! If you would like to buy Farm Fresh eggs, send me an e-mail! We also have Nell the family pet chicken. She is a red hen who has laid one egg per day for the last 4.5 weeks! She is a very good layer.
We are also getting ready for spring planting. Justin loves to garden food and I flowers. We decided, with the economy the way it is to expand our veggie garden this year and start with seeds. They are all starting to spring up in my planters. Again, there is this AMAZING feeing to watch God's plan for life unfold in a tiny seed or animal.
My school work keeps me pretty distracted most weekends. I know that I am not being the best housekeeper right now. As long as things are clean, that will have to outweigh tidy for a while. We cleaned up last weekend and have done pretty well to keep things picked up. I hope that you are all understanding where I am comming from!!

Oh Well,
Just another day in the life of one Living4Him :)
